How to Give


E-Transfers

We accept e-transfers at office@ucstayner.ca


Receipts will be issues for donations greater than $20.00.  Please ensure that we receive your mailing address along with your e-transfer.


CanadaHelps Online Donations

You are able to make one-time gifts *OR* set up regular monthly donations (processed on the day of the month you choose) by using our online partner CanadaHelps

You have the choice of giving by using a
Credit Card, PayPal  or Gift Card.

You can also choose to end or change your monthly donations at any time. Simply log in to your CanadaHelps "Donor Account".

You may also designate portions of your gift to specific funds. Indicate your wishes in the "Include A Message For This Charity" text box.

CanadaHelps is a non-profit organization servicing thousands of charities with a 3.5% fee on monthly donations and a 4.0% fee on one-time donations.

Receipts

CanadaHelps issues an official charitable tax receipt for every donation of more than $3.00 made online.

Donations are processed by CanadaHelps, and as such, receipts are issued by CanadaHelps using their charitable number.

You may choose from several options for your tax receipt(s).

For one-time donations, these include:
  • one receipt for all donations made in a session;
  • separate receipts for all donations made in a session; or
  • one receipt at the end of the year for all donations made during the year.
Receipts for monthly donations are stored in your donor's account and can be generated at year's end.

Monthly Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR)

PAR is a safe, secure and confidential way to have your givings deducted monthly from your bank account. Save the hassle of writing cheques or carrying cash and help the church know what income to count on each month. The flexibility is always there to change or cancel your PAR. Centennial United will receive 100% of your donation with no fees deducted. To sign up please download the attached PAR form and drop it off at the church office. PAR applications can also be mailed to:

This is the form for creating or changing donations by Pre-Authorized Remittance. The donation will be transferred directly from your account on the 20th of the month. Changes can be made at any time with 15 days notice.

Offering Envelopes

Placing and offering envelope on the collection plate is a wonderful opportunity to embody generosity in our weekly worship.  Using offering envelopes also ensures that we can identify your givings and issue a tax receipt. To request offering envelopes or for more information, please contact our church administrator at 705-428-3711.
If you cannot join us for worship in person at this time, offering envelopes can be sent in via Mail to 234 William Street, Box 385, Stayner, Ontario L0M 1S0.  We also offer curbside pick-up which can be arranged through our administrator at 705-428-3711.

Occasional Donations

• A gift made In Memory of someone close to you, and as an expression of sympathy and respect to surviving family members and friends. Centennial United will notify the family of your donation.
• A bequest in one’s will. A bequest may be made for a specific amount, a percentage of one’s Estate or the residue of the Estate.
• An Annuity. A United Church gift annuity provides an income for life, a charitable tax receipt and a gift to the congregation beyond one’s lifetime. Please click on this link to be directed to the United Church for more about how to arrange for one.
• RRSP or RRIF monies. These can be designated to a registered charity such as Centennial United Church Stayner and be eligible to be treated as a Charitable Gift upon death of the holder. Alternatively these monies are treated as income in the year of death and are taxable.
• Stocks. There is no capital gains of appreciated stocks that are contributed to a registered charity. The donor receives a charitable tax receipt for the full amount of the gift and is not required to pay any capital gains tax that may be applicable on the sale of the shares.
